Full-Day & Extended Day Programs

The Nurtury® has established its Full Day Pre-School Enrichment Programs and School-age Extended Day Programs in order to meet the parental need to find an environment which meets the needs of safety, education, nurturing, and enrichment for their children. The Nurtury® is open year-round between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and serves children ages 2 1/2 through the 3rd grade. Once a parent has chosen The Nurtury® as a supplement to their home and family, its faculty and programs can be counted on as a consistent home-away-from-home throughout the year until a child enters 4th grade.

Full-Day Pre-School

Kids

Parents of children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 may reserve a place for their child for 1 to 5 days/week in one of our Pre-School Enrichment Centers. We follow the most current research which recommends: (1) young children in full-day programs should be in mixed-aged, family grouping; and (2) children benefit from preschool classes grouped by age for a few hours each day. Age-grouped Pre-School Development Classes meet mornings during the school year, camp-like activities during the summer. Parents who enroll their children for 5 days a week may choose to receive a $250 college bond or a weeks tuition credit at the end of six months enrollment. For more information please fill out our Request Info Form.

Kindergarten and School-Age Extended Day

Kindergarten-age children must attend morning classes in either our Private Kindergarten or at another local Kindergarten. In our Extended-Day Program, kindergarten and 1st through 3rd graders are involved in supplemental learning, Spanish introduction, games, relaxation, computer activities, dramas, crafts, listening center activities, nutritious snacks and lunch. Transportation is available to & from schools within the Medina City limits in our van. Before school sessions and programming for days off from school are also available. For more information please fill out our Request Info Form.

Color Code Release System

Our release system was recognized by CBS-TV as "Exemplary." Each family is given a confidential "Color Code." If an adult picking up a child is not recognized the Code needs to be given. If parent calls for account info-code must be given.
Basically, the Code "unlocks" The Nurtury®.

A University Resource

The Nurtury® hosts students from the University of Akron, Kent State, Cuyahoga Community College and Medina Career Center as student teachers and participant/observers. One-way windows encourage observation by parents and other interested community adults.
